This tour is a pioneer exploration of the subtropical region in Southern Bhutan. You will explore pristine forests and observe wildlife. The Royal Manas National Park is home to Bengal tigers, elephants, hornbill and many other species. You will deeply immerse in the local culture and learn about forestry and farming whilst staying at homestays.

FORESTRY TRILOGY

 

Day 1:  Flight Delhi to Paro, transfer to Thimphu
Flight Delhi-Paro. Transfer to Thimphu. After check-in light hike to Ministry of Agriculture and Thimphu Dzong.

Day 2: Thimphu
Light hike to Chagri monastery in Jigme Dorji National Park (conifer and cool broadleaf forests). After lunch visit wood and paper factory.

Day 3: Thimphu-Tsirang
Start your journey to the South. Drive along Punakha River, crossing through farmlands, hydropower construction sites and sparse forests of chir pine. Visit farm on the way.

Day 4: Tsirang
Visit community forest in warm broadleaf forest.

Day 5: Tsirang-Gelephu
Drive through thick forest to the subtropical zone. Possibility of birdwathing and wildlife observation on the way.

Day 6: Gelephu
Excursion on agriculture and rural life.

Day 7: Gelephu-Tingtibi
Excursion on agriculture and rural life.

Day 8: Tingtibi
Explore village life and local products.

Day 9: Tingtibi
Birdwatching.

Day 10: Tingtibi-Pangbang
Drive from Tingtibi to Pangbang in Manas National Park.

Day 11: Pangbang
Manas National Park : Wildlife observation, elephant riding, park management.

Day 12: Pangbang
Manas National Park : Wildlife observation, elephant riding, park management. C

Day 13: Pangbang – Tingtibi
Drive from Pangbang to Tingtibi.

Day 14: Tingtibi – Zhemgang
Drive from Tingtibi to Zhemgang.

Day 15: Zhemgang
Visit warm broadleaf forests (community forests) and explore local products and village life.

Day 16: Zhemgang – Trongsa
Drive from Zhemgang to Trongsa. Visit Trongsa Dzong.

Day 17: Trongsa – Punakha
Drive from Trongsa to Punakha.

Day 18: Punakha – Paro
Drive from Trongsa to Punakha.

Day 19: Paro
Hike to Taktshang monastery through conifer (mainly blue pine) and oak forests.

Day 20: Paro
Local sightseeing.

Day 21: Paro – Delhi
Flight from Paro to Delhi
