Damchoe’s Homestay is a charming family estate set within a small, flourishing farm on the outskirts of Thimphu. Your hostess, Damchoe and her daughter Kinley Choki, are warm, enterprising, and known for their delicious home-cooked meals. Damchoe produces her own tofu and grows fresh vegetables right around the house, and in spring and summer the property comes alive with beautiful blooms. The spacious property provides comfortable accommodation in a cozy cottage near the main house, while still offering a warm, genuine family atmosphere.
As a result, the experience feels a bit like a relaxed “holiday on the farm,” similar to those in Europe—sociable, peaceful, and close to nature. This homestay is very family-friendly, with plenty of open space for children to play.
At Damchoe’s Homestay, you will get a glimpse of urban Bhutanese family life, enjoy wholesome meals made from garden-fresh produce, and, if you are curious, engage in wonderful conversations—Aum Damchoe and her family speak excellent English and are always happy to share stories about Bhutanese culture and daily life.
A stay at Damchoe’s Homestay promises comfort, warmth, great food, and an authentic connection to Bhutanese living.
