Phub Tenzin

GUIDE (culture)

Phub Tenzin is our freshly baked and passionate cultural guide with a love for hiking, trekking, and exploring nature. He loves the diversity of Bhutanese culture and thrives on sharing the unique local traditions of Bhutan with our guests.

Phub was born and raised in the beautiful Phobjikha valley where, while growing up, he spent a lot of time playing outside, helping with household chores and herding cows. He is used to the rustic and harsh lifestyle in this stunning valley at an altitude of 3000 m above sea level. During childhood he fell in love with the black necked cranes and spent hours observing them with friends while roaming the valley. He even performed as a crane in the now popular Black Necked Crane Festival at Gangtey. He is happy to take our guests to his home in Phobjikha where they will enjoy a delicious home cooked meal and warm hospitality. Phub’s upbringing positions him uniquely for hiking and homestay tours where our guests immerse in local hospitality and explore rural livelihoods.

During the Corona pandemic Phub kept busy learning German and he is ever ready to improve his language skills henceforth.

We are happy to welcome him in our team and support his career as a tour guide where his jolly and friendly nature can unfold to the fullest!
